Launching a Shopify store in Pakistan: the complete checklist

Shopify is the quickest way for most Pakistani brands to sell online, but a store that simply looks good is not enough. Customers here expect cash on delivery, quick replies on WhatsApp and clear delivery times. Use this checklist before launch day.

Products and pages

• Clear product photos on a consistent background, plus at least one lifestyle or on-model photo
• A size guide for clothing and footwear, in the units your customers use
• Honest product descriptions with fabric, care, dimensions and what is in the box
• About, Contact, Shipping, Returns and Privacy pages that are easy to find

Payments and checkout

Cash on delivery is still how a large share of Pakistani shoppers prefer to pay, so offer it, but protect yourself: confirm COD orders by phone or WhatsApp before dispatch, and consider an advance payment for high-value or custom items.

Add online options too, such as cards, bank transfer and local wallets supported by your payment provider, and make the checkout as short as possible.

Shipping and couriers

• Connect a courier service that can book shipments and track them from your Shopify admin
• Set clear delivery times for Lahore, other major cities and the rest of Pakistan
• Send order confirmation and tracking updates by SMS or WhatsApp
• Decide your exchange and return process before the first complaint arrives

Speed and mobile

Most of your traffic will come from phones, often on mobile data. Compress images, limit apps and avoid heavy sliders. Test the store on a mid-range Android phone, not just your laptop.

Every extra second of loading costs you customers who never come back.

Trust

New shoppers want proof that you are real. Show reviews, real photos, your WhatsApp number, social media links and a physical address if you have one. Reply to messages fast, especially in the first weeks.
